The house
We bought it for the light, and the long kitchen table.
A Georgian house above Bath that had been a doctor’s surgery, a flat, and very nearly a car park. We spent two years on the lime plaster and the walled garden and opened with four rooms and one rule: breakfast is whatever the garden and the Saturday market gave us that morning.
There’s no front desk. There’s a kettle, an honesty bar, and us, usually in the garden, occasionally asleep.
