Solution

Robotics

Perception, motion planning and real-time firmware for machines that act.

From £25,000Indicative. Every project is quoted to scope.

We develop robotics and control systems that sense their surroundings, plan a path and move safely. The work spans perception, motion planning and low-level firmware, tested on real hardware rather than only in simulation.

What we do

Perception and sensing

Fusing camera, lidar and depth data so a robot knows where it is and what is around it. We build the pipelines that turn raw sensor streams into a reliable picture the control stack can trust.

Motion planning and control

Planning collision-free paths and closing the loop with control that stays stable under load. We tune behaviour against your safety limits and validate it before anything moves near people.

Firmware and integration

Real-time firmware for motors, actuators and sensors, tied together over ROS or a custom bus. We handle timing, fault handling and the awkward hardware quirks that only show up on the bench.

Where it fits

Use cases.

Automation and warehouse teams building mobile or fixed robotsHardware startups needing perception and motion softwareResearch groups moving a prototype toward a real productManufacturers integrating robotic cells with safety requirements

Perception and navigation

We fuse cameras, lidar, and other sensors so a robot can understand where it is and what is around it. This feeds mapping, obstacle avoidance, and reliable navigation in cluttered spaces.

Motion planning and control

Plan collision-free paths and smooth trajectories for arms or mobile bases, then close the loop with real-time control. We validate behaviour in simulation before it touches hardware.

Firmware and safety layer

Write real-time firmware for motors and sensors, and build the safety logic that brings the system to a safe stop. Safety is designed in from the start, not bolted on later.

Capabilities

Everything it covers.

  • Sensor fusion for cameras, lidar, IMU, and encoders
  • Mapping, localisation, and obstacle avoidance
  • Motion planning and trajectory control for arms and bases
  • Real-time firmware for motors, drivers, and sensors
  • ROS and ROS 2 integration where it fits
  • Simulation before hardware to cut risk and cost
  • Safety-stop logic and fault handling
  • Testing on the actual target hardware, not just in theory

Typical timeline

Discovery and a simulated prototype typically take six to ten weeks; hardware integration timelines depend on your platform and safety scope.

How scope works

Hardware behaviour is unpredictable, so we test on your real platform and share findings openly. We do not certify systems for regulatory safety standards ourselves, but we build to support that process.

How we work

Four steps, no surprises.

01

Scope

We map the goal, the constraints and the risks, and agree a fixed brief before anything starts.

02

Design

Interfaces, architecture and the plan, reviewed with you before a line of code is written.

03

Build

Type-safe, tested delivery in short increments you can see and steer.

04

Launch & care

We ship, hand over everything, and keep it running if you want us to.

Questions

Good to know.

How long does Robotics take?

Timelines depend on scope. Most engagements run from a few weeks to a few months, and you get a firm estimate after a short scoping call.

How is it priced?

From £25,000 is an indicative starting point. Every project is quoted to the scope we agree, with no surprises later.

Do we own what you build?

Yes. You own the source code, the design files and the accounts. There is no lock-in.

Do you maintain it after launch?

We can. Hosting, monitoring and updates are available as an ongoing plan, or we hand over cleanly to your team.
